home improvement

Tay and I are in the process of improving the look of our home.  Our first project as a married couple.  Wow.  Who would have thought picking out the color of wood for the floors would be so stressful?  Seriously, they're just floors.  We walk on them, they get dusty and dirty and then I clean them.  But of course, it can't be that easy.  The color has to be just right.  The wood can't be too light, too dark, too reddish orange or god forbid "too natural".  The "too natural" was Taylor's reference to the hardwood I picked out with a more rustic look.  According to him, it "looked like something that was taken out of a home built in the 1930s".  I've come to the realization in the short four months we've been married (actually, I kind of knew before we were wed), he will never understand my appreciation of anything vintage or old.  The project was scheduled to start today.  Obviously, that's not happening.  Hopefully, we can agree on something in between "too natural" and "too reddish orange" before our first home improvement project becomes a doozie!

is it friday yet?

Ahhh... Friday, day of the week all working wives and mothers look forward to, but why?  It's not like we actually get to take a day off.  Friday just brings us one day closer to catching up on all of the laundry and cleaning we lacked doing through out the busy work week.  I'm not complaining.  I start thinking about my weekend the second I clock in on Monday morning.  Wait... correction - the second my alarm clock goes off Monday morning.  By Tuesday morning, I catch myself asking, is it Friday yet?  So, I'm all for the weekend.  This one is going to be a good one.  I can feel it.  My husband (Mr. Wilson) is off work and the sun will be shining - making for nice warm 60 degree weather!  So, bring it on!

If I get the mounds of laundry done and the house clean... I might treat myself to a fancy little mani/pedi (while Mr. Wilson plays golf) using this:

finally getting started...

I started blog following a few years ago, but didn't have the desire become a part of the blogging world myself until shortly after I was engaged.  I had the crazy notion (very briefly) that just maybe I would get married and become one of "those" stay at home moms who get to blog about home decor, share yummy recipes and post pictures of all the creative arts and crafts they make with their precious children - because that's what the majority of this blog world is all about, right?  WRONG!  Four months in to our marital bliss and I'm finally getting started on my first post... Hopefully, I can keep a couple of you family members and friends entertained as I become accustom to being Mrs. Wilson.
